New patients are always welcome at our practice

New patients are always welcome to our practice. Oadby Dental Clinic started from scratch in 1999, and more than 20 years on, we now have over 9,000 patients on our list.

Our practice has grown through patients' recommendations to friends and families. It is an honour and a privilege to be able to serve the people of the local and surrounding communities, although we do have patients coming from as far afield as Skegness, London and Jersey. It is testimony to the service we provide. However, this is not an excuse for us to, as they say, rest on our laurels. We see it as our duty to our trusting patients to do even better. This is why our dentists are always updating their knowledge and skills by attending courses within the UK and abroad. We also invest in new, modern equipment and technology.

Our patients deserve the best treatment we can provide, and we owe it to them. We will always prescribe the treatment we think is best for you. Our philosophy is 'would I do it on me?'. This is our golden 'WIDIOM' rule!

We accept patients both on the NHS, as long as funding is available, and privately. Private patients can also join Denplan, the most popular private dental care insurance scheme.

With Denplan Care, the patient does not pay for any treatment. However, if the treatment involves any laboratory work such as dentures and crowns, the patient only pays the laboratory charges. The scheme provides emergency cover, home and abroad. More details can be provided.

To join our practice, we prefer patients to come and fill in a form. You can then make an appointment for an initial check-up. On your first visit, we will check your teeth, gum and mouth as a whole. We may need to take X-rays to provide us with additional information. If you have any concerns about anything, please let us know and we can discuss them with you. It may be a discoloured tooth or a crooked tooth you are unhappy about, or may be simply, you are nervous about visiting the dentist. Our aim is to help you in any way we can and the more information you can provide us, the more we can help you achieve your goal. We will explain all the treatment options to you and help you decide which treatment will best suit you, depending on personal circumstances.

Throughout your treatment, if there is any new finding that may require a change in the treatment plan, we will inform you. Or, if you change your mind about anything, please let us know. We are here to work with you every step of the way.

For information about our charges, please see Fee Guide.

When treatment is finished, we encourage all our patients to have a regular check-up. Any tooth decay or disease in the mouth can then be spotted earlier and dealt with. Prevention is better than cure. It is also cheaper because any treatment that is required in the early stages will be minor and simple.

At the end of your treatment, our responsibility and care for you carry on. Our aim is not only to provide the best treatment, but also the best service.

If you have an emergency in between treatment, please click on Emergencies. This will provide you with some information about what to do. If you still need to see a dentist, please give us a call. If the problem is severe enough you feel you need to be seen on the same day, call us first thing in the morning. This will give us more flexibility to accommodate you on the day.

If you have to cancel an appointment, please give us as much notice as possible, at least 24 hours, otherwise you may be charged. Your appointment can then be offered to somebody else who may be in pain.
